Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.
Psalm 139:14-16.

The month of October has long been the month that we call attention to women’s issues. At this time of the year you will see many more Pink Ribbons around than usual. Advertisers will use them on their products in the stores in the hopes that you will see that they care about women and will choose their product over the others.

We want to raise awareness of breast cancer, and also the fact that there are many women and girls that are victims of abuse including domestic violence. Many people get tired of hearing about it, but I think it is good to remind ourselves that there is still a lot of injustice in our country. For whatever reason people choose to look the other way rather than face the difficult situations. I know that there are many problems in our society and we can’t solve all of them at once, but since October is Women’s Month, let’s at least look at one problem – Health risks connected to abortion.

I think that it is appropriate that we look at the link between cancer and abortion. My blogs all this month are featuring abortion because that procedure has become synonymous with so-called “women’s rights”. I am trying to encourage you to see that abortion is not only NOT a “right” but is actually an offense against God and the helpless unborn child, and it is also harmful to the women who have abortions.

There have been many studies done that show how the risk of cancer increases when women abortions. I will just cite several done by well-known organizations. You can go on the Internet and find many more.

1.  A study done with researchers from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the University of Pennsylvania found that there was a significant association between abortion and breast cancer. It was noted that a woman having even one abortion increased her chance of getting breast cancer by nearly three times (2.86).
(The study was published in The Taylor & Francis Group, “Health Care for Women International”, Volume 32, Issue 11, 2011.)

2.  A website you can go to containing much information including links to research and many factual articles is: “Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer”. Follow their link to a discussion on just how abortion raises the risk of cancer. The scientific evidence is overwhelming enough to convince all but the ones who deliberately choose denial.

There really is a link. Planned Parenthood does not want you to know this. Whenever a new study comes out, PP tries to derail it in any way they can. Don’t fall for it. Abortion is dangerous to the health of the mother and of course deadly for the unborn baby. I will have more to say on this in the next blog posting.

For now, I would like to take some time to talk to women about abortion in a softer tone. Yes, I come down pretty hard on abortionists and especially Planned Parenthood. That is because they know full well what they are doing. They are making millions of dollars killing babies. They are fooling a lot of women into going along with them. If you were fooled, please don’t think you must stop there.

Abortion ends the life of a baby. If you have had an abortion I hope that you will realize that. The Psalmist tells us that in God’s book there are days ordained for everyone (Ps. 139:16). God makes each little child and He has plans for them. Abortion puts an end to all of that. We will never know what that child might have become.

My purpose in pointing out the specialness of the creation of children by God is not to make you more miserable. If you don’t know what you did you cannot be sorry for it.

If you are sorry for it, there is forgiveness with Jesus Christ. You are not the only woman who has made this mistake. There are many fine organizations, such as “Rachel’s Vineyard”, where you can find help. People are available to pray with you and counsel with you.

Never think that you cannot be forgiven and receive God’s grace. The apostle Paul went about arresting and putting to death Christian men and women. God saved Paul and then he went on to become a humble leader. Paul considered himself to be the worst sinner. Being a Christian does not mean that we don’t sin; being a Christian means that we’ve been forgiven.

Remember that YOU were fearfully and wonderfully made in your mother’s womb and God has ordained plans for you in His book of life too. Put the past behind you and move on in the joy of the love and forgiveness of Christ.

Please forgive me if you have taken anything in my past blog postings to be hurtful criticism for you. I am a sinner too. Please use my postings as information that may be helpful if you know of others who are considering abortion. Please see that I feel compelled to tell the truth about it because the media seems to enjoy fostering lies about abortion.

Feel free to answer this post with any comments, prayer requests, or questions about further help.

And please know that we remain in the precious love of God. He has not forgotten you and He loves you. Consider the next verse from our quotation from the Psalms:
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
(Psalm 139:17).

God bless you.
